But here's the thing: getting the water temperature down below 12\u00b0C isn't always easy, especially at the height of summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

? What temperature should I aim for for a cold bath?<\/strong>

For an effective ice bath, we generally aim for between 8\u00b0C and 12\u00b0C<\/strong>.
Below: reserved for the more experienced.
Above that: it will be refreshing, but less effective in terms of the physiological benefits sought (vasoconstriction, anti-inflammatory, muscle recovery...).<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Here are the best techniques for getting down to temperature quickly (and well):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Add small pieces<\/strong> of ice<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Thin ice has a larger contact surface: it melts faster and cools the water more quickly than large blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
